Tourist dies after falling out from the balcony of a Cabarete’s hotel
PUERTO PLATA The National Police reported that an American tourist of 62 years old died (Jan 15, 2015) from the multiple shocks and traumas he received after falling out from the balcony of the room where he was staying, on the fourth floor of hotel Areca in Cabarete. The victim was identified as Robert Joseph Lauziere JR, originally from Oregon City, United States, who arrived Tuesday in Cabarete.
According to investigations by the authorities it was established that several friends of the deceased confessed that they were having fun and wandering into the wee hours of the morning, the deceased had consumed a large amount of alcohol, so supposedly being intoxicated he approached the balcony of his room and fell through the cracks.
A representative of the Public Ministry and the acting coroner; Dr. Mario César López, said that the cause of death was due to blows to the head and other parts of his body after falling from a top, which produced internal bleeding. The corpse of Robert Joseph Lauziere JR, was sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) in Santiago for further expertise which will determine the actual cause of his death.
