Students to learn German at Dominican Universities
The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT) and the German embassy have signed an agreement to teach German at Dominican universities in a “German by Immersion Program” which will last one year.
According to Minister Ligia Amada Melo, the agreement is aimed at helping students who want to carry out higher education studies in Germany, such as master’s degrees and doctorates, with the aid of grants from the Dominican government.
She went on to say that Germany was one of the most advanced countries to study in, especially engineering, health and science programs and with this purpose in mind she recently met with Public Health Minister Altagracia Guzman to discuss the provision of doctoral programs in Germany in specialist areas that are not available here.
The agreement was signed by the Minister and by Gabriele Weber, the Trade Attache at the German Embassy.
