Seven die in Sosua-Cabarete car crash last Sunday
The Metropolitan Transport Authority (Amet) reported that seven people died and two were injured when a Toyota Camry and a Peugeot SUV crashed into each other on the Sosua-Cabarete highway near the entrance to la Cienega at around 5:30 am on Sunday 26 July 2015. The Toyota Camry was a multi-fare transporter, carrying 9 persons and the driver.
The deceased are Jose Daniel Gonzalez Salcedo, Maria del Pilar Moris Fernandez, Arelis Moris, Wilber Clesias (Haitian), Jose Antonio Ogando Rojas, Maria Javier Morel, Rolando Antonio Rodriguez Garcia. AMET says the injured are Delvi Jesus Martinez Martinez, Aneudy Urena, Evangelista Munoz and Norberto Tejada.
The two drivers, Ogando Reyes of the Peugeot SUV and Gonzalez Salcedo of the Toyota Camry died in the crash.
As reported, Jose Daniel Gonzalez Salcedo was transporting three persons in the front seat, four in the back seat and two in the trunk, as reported in Diario Libre.
