Santiago is ready to become the top Caribbean tourism destination
Santiago Tourism Destination Cluster president Ramon Paulino on Monday said the province´s strategic tourism development plan is ready to implement in the coming months.
The business leader, speaking in a press conference during the annual Discover Puerto Plata Market Place held at the Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Resort in Cofresi, said the strategic plan will bolster the province, as well as develop Santiago destination´s cultural and historic routes.
Paulino said a tourism and a provincial route map, a museum, the cluster´s website, 20 trained tour guides, among other programs have already been designed.
He said the strategic plan seeks to turn Santiago province into a sustainable tourist destination.
He said the Cluster´s more than 70 sector agencies seek to make Santiago one of the Caribbean region´s most attractive tourism destinations and thanked the National Competitiveness Council, the Inter-American Development Bank and the Dominican Tourism Ministry for their support.
