Sammy Sosa inducted to Latin Baseball Hall of Fame
Famous Chicago Cubs slugger Sammy Sosa was inducted into the Latin Baseball Hall of Fame in La Romana. The event coincided with the birthday of his mom, Mireya Sosa. “I am proud and happy about this induction to the Latin Baseball Hall of Fame. I truly appreciate this honor,” said Sosa upon receiving the award from the hands of Roberto Alomar, Jose Sierra and his mother.
Sammy Sosa batted 609 homeruns during his career that started with the Texas Rangers in 1989 and ended with the Texas Rangers in 2007. He is best remembered for the year he batted 66 home runs with the Chicago Cubs in 1998. He played for the Cubs from 1992 to 2004. He was named All Star in 1995, 1998-2002, and 2004
