Review: Oktoberfest was more than successful
The Oktoberfest, which took place from Friday, Oct 9th to Sunday, Oct 12th at Parada Típica El Choco, attracted even more visitors than in previous years. On Saturday night there were more than 300 guests! Not only from Sosúa and Cabarete, but some also came from Santiago, Cofresi, Puerto Plata and even from the capital to the Oktoberfest.
Luckily, Marco and Jacqueline had expected more visitors and were prepared with extra couches and chairs. Especially on Saturday evening everybody was in a very good mood. An evening to eat, drink and above all sing along lustily with the Oktoberfest Schlager songs, then followed by polonaises and polkas. Beside the dance floor a lovely bar was set up with real German draft beer. Of course, the beer (very high quality) ‘Maxlrainer’ was served in large ‘stiefels’ (mugs).
Marco and Jacqueline, dressed in original Swiss costumes took care of the party mood. And with so many people eager to dance, the dance floor was a bit to small. This year again there was a police man who incarcerated men and women who ‘misbehaved’. They had to spend a few minutes in jail where they had to drink a large mug of beer as a heavy punishment. This under the eye of three beautiful female guards. The prison was housed in the Swiss Chalet.
Again, several companies took part in the celebration. Productos Bavaria, Sol de Choco, Panaderia Dick, Calle Pizza, Bar Tipa Cool, OJO Club, Charly’s Stammtich, Tam Tam Bar and HVB Plaza.
For the children, there were fun games where the trampoline was favorite by far.
Sunday night ended the very successful three-day Oktoberfest, when the last party-goers left late at night.
