Proposals for better wages at the Police

The Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) has announced that it is working on a new wage scale for the Police, as part of a wages policy for the public sector. MAP Minister Ramon Ventura Camejo and Police Chief Major General Nelson Peguero Paredes signed a two-year cooperation agreement yesterday, Thursday 22 October 2015. The objective is to contribute to the institutional strengthening of the Police through actions and mechanisms that seek to improve conditions and best management practices in the Police to offer a quality service to the public. A common assessment framework will be developed to define actions for improvement and institutional strengthening.

The MAP will review and propose improvements to the organizational structure of the Police and provide technical assistance to prepare and implement wage increases for the Police. It will also carry out technical studies to implement systems for human resource management and will assist the Police in preparing manuals for their application.
