Police raid shop which´forged´ IDs for illegal immigrants
Santiago.- The National Police on Tuesday raided a photo studio next to Santiago´s Public Works Office which allegedly forged identification documents for illegal aliens.
Police agents and Justice Ministry prosecutors arrested the owner of Fotoestudio Peña, on charges of forging documents of the government program to regularize Haitian nationals.
Assistant DA Andrés Peña, who took part in the raid, said the studio functioned like a makeshift consulate, printing documents for illegal aliens in the country.
He several items were seized on site, including printers, hard drives, ID making machines, among others. “More people are suspected in connection with this illegal activity so the case will be investigated in depth.”
