Pawa Dominicana airline awaits green light for US flights
Santo Domingo.- Pawa Dominicana airline awaits the US Transportation Dept.´s (DOT) authorization to fly in that country, with routes to New York, Miami and San Juan, as part of the carrier´s first stage of operations.
Pawa corporate affairs director Alexander Barrios acknowledged that the three routes account for the most passengers, for Dominican and Caribbean destinations as well.
He said Pawa plans twice-weekly flights to Havana and Antigua & Barbuda starting November. Those routes will make Pawa the only airline operating in the country to have five destinations, when it adds Curacao, Saint Maarten and Aruba.
Antigua flights start Nov. 22, while those to Havana are set for November 30, Barrios said, quoted by local media.
