Over 1,000 cases assisted by Emergency 911 on Christmas Eve
Santo Domingo.– Presidency chief of staff Gustavo Montalvo said Friday that on December 24, from noon to midnight, the National Emergency System 9-1-1 assisted 1,079 emergencies.
On the same date last year and in the same time range, the system assisted 641 emergency cases, which shows an increase of 41%.
Montalvo said that on the morning of the 25th, from noon until 6 am, the system assisted 384 emergencies and 267 noise complaints. Of emergencies attended in the morning on Christmas, 30% involved incidents of physical assault and domestic violence.
“My congratulations to all staff of the 9-1-1 System and support agencies that work 24/7 and continue to this day to perform their duties as efficiently as ever. To all of you my appreciation,” said Montalvo during a visit to the 9-1-1- system headquarters.
