New Porsche Models arrive to the Dominican Republic
Good news for fans of beautiful fast cars. Last Saturday, September 12th, at the Sunix Racetrack in Santo Domingo, new Porsche sports cars models – the 911 GT3 RS and the Cayman GT4 – were introduced into the Dominican Republic by Peynado GA.
Porsche Track Day gathered together the Dominican Republic’s Porsche loving community to see the two new models in action for the first time, as well as a total of 74 Porsche cars which filled the race track.
“The Porsche 911 GT3 RS and Cayman GT4 are two masterpieces that can only really be experienced behind the wheel. That is why we have brought them here to enjoy them with all the Dominican Porsche family”, said Jacinto Peynado, President of Peynado General Automotriz, who welcomed all of those gathered at the track.
Now let’s take a look at those new models…
The Porsche 911 GT3 RS combines the best of the Porsche technology, leading to another level efficiency and performance of the renowned 997 GT3 RS models. An unprecedented challenge for the Porsche engineers, it represented improving something thought to be unsurpassable. But if anything characterizes Porsche it’s passion, which led to the creation of a new and unique model. Its interior is designed to enjoy driving in the streets and on the track. And the exterior is stunning. Its engine took two years to develop, and is capable of going from 0 to 100 in only 3.4 seconds! When tested, it ran 20.8km in just 7 minutes and 20 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Porsche Cayman GT4 gave life for the first time to a “genuine GT” based on the central-engine model series. To achieve this, the two-seater was equipped with plenty of sports items, such as an adjustable chassis, designed to set records on the slopes. It goes from 0 to 100 in only 4.4 seconds. Its results shown the completion of a 20.8km journey in 7 minutes and 40 seconds.
Even with all the focus on motor sport disciplines, both the Cayman GT4 and GT3 RS 911 retain their character for everyday use. Peynado concluded stating that “These models are really old school, fun to drive, and make a direct connection between the driver and the vehicle”.
