Miss Espaillat elected Miss DR
A 23-year old professional model, Clarissa Molina, was chosen as Miss Dominican Republic in a pageant held at the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo yesterday, Sunday, 30 August 2015. She will represent the country at the Miss Universe pageant. Born in Santiago, and a resident of New Jersey since the age of 15, she represented the northern province of Espaillat (Moca) in the pageant.
Clarissa Molina, who is 5’11″, was also the third runner up in the Miss Belleza Latina pageant produced by the United States TV channel Univision, which was won by another Dominican, Francisa Lachapelle.
Sophinel Baez of Duarte province (San Francisco de Macoris) was elected Miss Hispanoamericana and will represent the country in Ecuador. Jennifer Cruz of La Altagracia province was chosen to represent the DR at the Miss Continente pageant to be held in Bolivia.
Molina has also won the Miss Dominican Republic Tourism International 2012 and Miss Latina New Jersey USA 2013 pageant.
