Margarita, country’s most powerful woman
Vice President Margarita Cedeno is the most powerful woman in the country, according to a ranking published by Forbes business magazine. In its online edition the magazine says that her time in her various positions has put her at the forefront of social programs in the country and has had a great impact on society. The Solidarity program in particular is mentioned. Cedeno is the wife of former President Leonel Fernandez.
Cedeno’s top spot is followed by Ligia Bonetti, executive president of Grupo SID and Mercedes Ramos, executive president of Grupo Ramos.
Senate president Cristina Lizardo is in fourth place, followed by investigative journalist Nuria Piera, director general of NCDN. National District prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso is in sixth place and Central Bank deputy governor Clarissa de la Rocha is in seventh place.
Grupo SIN vice president, journalist Alicia Ortega is in eighth place, First Lady Candida Montilla is in ninth place and Haydee Kuret de Rainieri, vice president of Hospitality and Human Resources from Grupo Puntacana is in tenth place.
