Luguelin Santos, sprinter, won gold at Pan American Games 2015 doing his best mark of the year
TORONTO, Canada. The Dominican sprinter Thursday Luguelin Santos won the gold medal at the Pan American Games in the 400 meter dash. Santos and awarded the second gold metal for quisqueyana delegation to the continental tournament which takes place in the Canadian city of Toronto.
Santos, silver medalist at the Olympic Games in London ’2012, toured the oval with 44.56, his best time of the season and second time lowers the bar 45 this year.
The silver medal is Cedeino Machel, Trinidad / Tobago, to 44.70, and the bronze for Kyle Clemont, the United States, with 44.84. Neri Brenes of Costa Rica, who won gold in 2011, was fourth with 44.85.
Santos won the silver medal in the previous edition of the Pan American Games, in 2011 in Guadalajara. It is his first continental title for the native of Monte Plata sprinter.
It is the second Dominican gold and joins the weightlifter Candida Vasquez.
