Las Americas airport gets 3 new X-ray scanners
Santo Domingo.- Dominican airports management contractor Aerodom on Monday began installing three X-ray scanners to check passengers and baggage at Las Americas Airport.
The installation of the machines in Las Americas terminal will conclude Wednesday, with which Aerodom responds to a request by Airports Dept. director Marino Collante, to replace the obsolete equipment.
The new equipment will speed up the checks on the thousands of passengers who depart via Las Americas daily, and could also detect and prevent the entry of banned articles and substances into the planes.
The three machines, whose cost wasn’t revealed, work with the Dual System; an enhanced ability to detect any dangerous object and alert security at once.
