Icon Dominican newspaperman dies at 87
Santo Domingo.- Virgilio Radhames Gomez Pepin, one of Dominican Republic´s icon newspaper editor-in-chief died today Monday at 87.
Known as a master teacher of journalists, Gomez co-founded the leading evening paper El Nacional in 1966, and had been its editor-in-chief since September 1988.
The veteran journalist passed away early Monday at the CEDIMAT Medical Center.
Gomez, who started his career in his native Santiago in 1927, is survived by his wife Cornelia Margarita, and children Radhames Virgilio, Ramon Euclides, Cesar Rafael, Ana Patricia, Laura and Orlando.
