Humanitarian visas for Haitians

The Latin American Political Committee of the Dominican Republic (Copola USA-RD) recommends that United Nations members such as the European Union, France, Spain, Italy, USA, Japan, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Russia and the UK and members of UNASUR, Caricom and OAS organizations grant a pool of 50,000 humanitarian visas or temporary work permit visas to Haitian citizens to relieve the economic burden suffered by both Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

The organization says that around three million Haitians have not been able to rebuild their homes or find adequate work.
