Haitian girl dies charred in fire, Cabarete
PUERTO PLATA a seven-year-old died last night charred and her two brothers were with severe burns as they slept in a guest house on the main street in Vera Long Borough Cabarete, building out of wood and zinc was reduced to ashes by a raging fire.
According to reports from the Northern Regional Directorate of the National Police, the tragic incident occurred at 2:00 am when flames embraced the Haitian girl Lou Chant, daughter of Sir Frankie Chant 30 years and also Haitian National Manitat Joseph of 29 years who were not in the house at the time of the tragedy.
The acting coroner, Dr. Mario Cesar Lopez, said the seven year old girl was completely charred, while their brothers Shawls Chant Chant Jonal 4 years and 2 years, with severe burns first and second degree, with 85-90 % of body surface area burned so after receiving first aid at the Ricardo Limardo Hospital of Puerto Plata they were referred to the Children’s Hospital Universitario Doctor Arturo Grullón of Santiago.
Finally, according to the versions of the residents at the scene of the tragedy, indicate that the incident occurred when the children were alone, locked in the room where they slept, and their parents were out.
