Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Luxury Hotel in Punta Cana
The U.S. hotel chain AMResorts recently began construction of its Secrets Cap Cana Resorts & Spa hotel, an all-inclusive luxury adults-only resort situated in Punta Cana, on the country’s easternmost region.
The US$160 million project is scheduled to open in October 2016, and will feature 470 suites, eight gourmet restaurants, five bars, gazebos for wedding ceremonies, convention center, meeting rooms and a top-of-the-line spa.
The new all-inclusive hotel will offer guests AMResorts’ Unlimited-LUxzury concept.
The new facility will be the ninth all-inclusive property AMResort opens in the east coast beaches of the Dominican Republic, and the second Secrets Hotel.
The international hotel chain currently operates the following facilities in the east coast city of La Romana the Dreams La Romana Resorts & Spa and, this summer, it will officially open the Dominicus La Romana Resort & Spa.
In Punta Cana: the Dreams Palm Beach Resort & Spa; Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa; Now Larimar Punta Cana; Zoetry Agua Punta Cana Resort & Spa; Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa, and the Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana.
The international hotel chain is a member of the U.S.-based Apple Leisure Group. Other members of this important company: Apple Vacations – one of the largest tour operators in the United States – Travel Impressions, AMResorts, CheapCaribbean.com, Amstar and Unlimited Vacations Club.
The Apple Leisure Group was responsible for the visit to the Dominican Republic of some 400,000 tourists, approximately 10% of international tourists who visited the Dominican Republic in 2014.
The company is responsible for two out of ten tour-packages purchased by Americans traveling to the Caribbean.
The AMResorts chain also operates hotels in Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico, Curacao, St. Thomas and Panama.
