Government launches road safety program for the holidays
Santo Domingo.- Public Works minister Gonzalo Castillo on Tuesday launched the Christmas Road Assistance and Protection Operation 2015 on all thoroughfares nationwide, with more than 225 motorized patrols until January 15.
He said the services provided will be reinforced with 25 new patrol cars, 20 mobile workshops, trucks, ambulances, medical personnel, emergency specialists, cranes and motorcycles that will take action in urban areas.
“The new units will be scattered on the main roads in addition to existing patrols across the country,” Castillo said during the operation´s launch near the Las Americas highway toll plaza.
