Four Syrians got arrested at Las Americas airport
Las Americas Airport. French, Spanish and Dominican authorities exchange information of the four Syrians who were arrested while trying to board a flight to Europe illegally.
Four Syrians came to the Dominican Republic via the international terminal of Punta Cana, on October 20th and were arrested in the AILA, on October 29th while trying to board a flight with a stopover in Spain.
Although they arrived in the country before the bombing in Paris, they were arrested because they had no legal documents.
From that day intelligence authorities of the Dominican government, have been investigating the four men.
According to Director of Public Relations of the Department of Migration Ambioris Rosario, the four syrians will be deported in the coming hours under Dominican immigration laws. The authorities did not confirm the origin of these 4.
The airport authorities have increased security in the Dominican airports since the attack in France, and surveillance has been implemented with K-9 dog units specialized in detecting explosives and dangerous substances, which are being targeted by security officers assigned to the Specialized Airport Security Corps and the Civil Aviation CESAC.
