Extradition sought for 12 in RD$1.4B Peravia bank fraud
Santo Domingo.- National District prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso on Wednesday said 12 people were requested in extradition in connection to the of more than RD$1.4 billion fraud in the failed bank Banco Peravia.
She said the Peravia case investigation is advancing and that she will reveal the names on the extradition orders.
The bank´s two top executives managed to leave the country and were declared fugitives.
Speaking to reporters Reynoso said the investigation into the alleged scam also uncovered “serious” links to State Works Supervisory Engineers Office (OISOE) former director Miguel Pimentel Kareh, “in various ways which I reiterate, I’d rather not give detail at this time.”
