Dominicans paying more taxes
The Tax Agency (DGII) is reporting tax collections of RD$23.42 billion in September, an increase of over RD$1.06 billion in comparison with September 2014, or 4.8% more.
Nevertheless, the DGII said the total of taxes collected in September fell RD$2.11 billion below budgeted revenue that was estimated at RD$25.56 billion. This could be attributed to the decline in fuel taxes due to the drop in international oil prices.
The DGII says that from January to September 2015 tax collections were RD$243.15 billion, 2.4% more than in 2014.
