Dominican women volleyball team brings home the gold
Santo Domingo.- The women’s national Sub-20 volleyball team arrived Sunday to a cheering crowd at Las Americas International Airport, on winning the gold medal Saturday undefeated in their category in the championship held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
“I feel very proud and happy because we brought this gold my country and I knew that gold was ours. I feel good because it’s my last event in the junior category,” said Brayelin Martinez, most valuable player, said:
Martinez said they never lost their drive even when the Dominicans were down 12-14 on the set, in the game against Brazil for the World gold medal.
For Natalia Martinez, who scored the winning point, “it´s very special, that was great, a historic first place which leaves me speechless.”
