Dominican Republic becomes founding member of Solar Power initiative
Paris.- President Danilo Medina made Dominican Republic a founding member of the Solar Power Generation International Alliance, an initiative by India that seeks to ensure green, clean and sustainable energy production.
“United by a common vision for the generation of clean and renewable energy available to all, we affirm our intention to form the International Alliance of solar power generation, as founding members, ensuring the promotion of green, clean and sustainable energy, and reap the benefits of the sun in our favor,” reads the statement issued in Paris.
The signatories, including Dominican Republic, affirm that they share the common aspiration to develop consensus and innovative efforts “to reduce financing costs and the cost of the technologies for the immediate generation of solar energy in all our countries.”
