Dolphins observed off the coast of Sosúa
On January 10, 2015 several people at the beach of Sosúa observed dolphins near the coast.
Carlo Polanco made a video clip with his smartphone and uploaded it to his Facebook page. It is very rare that dolphins are seen so close to the coast of Sosúa. Now it is the season for spotting humpback whales along the coast of Puerto Plata, Sosúa and Cabarete. This is a mating season for humpback whales. Humpback whales come from the North Atlantic to the shores of the Dominican Republic to mate and give birth. They are seen in great numbers in the National Park ‘Los Haitises’ near the peninsula of Samaná.
