Construction of the bypass road around Cabarete to start soon
For years now people have been complaining about the traffic in Cabarete. All traffic has to squeeze itself through the narrow passageway and this causes unsafe situations, parking problems, noise and pollution. During a visit to Cabarete in 2012, President Danilo Medina promised that a solution would be found for this.
Now the president ordered to start the construction of a bypass around Cabarete. In addition, a modern boulevard will be built. The ring road will have a length of five kilometers and connected to the existing freeway. The boulevard will be two kilometers long. The entire project is carried out by the firm Cemex Dominicana, and is estimated at 700 million pesos. The engineering firm ‘la Oficina de Ingenieros Supervisores de Obras del Estado (OISOE)’ will monitor the implementation of the project. The construction of the ring road should be ready by mid December.
