Catalonia Hotel Chain Invests US$20 Million in Their Facilities in the D.R.
The Catalonia Hotels & Resorts chain recently announced that it will invest US$20 million to renovate its hotels in the Dominican Republic. The renovation process of the facilities should be completed by the end of 2016. The hotel chain currently operates the following facilities in the D.R.: the Catalonia Bavaro, Catalonia Gran Dominicus Catalonia, the Catalonia Royal, Catalonia La Romana and Catalonia Punta Cana.
The chain will soon open a Catalonia facility in Santo Domingo, the country’s capital city. The hotel will operate in a 21-story building situated facing the Caribbean Sea. The property will provide guests with an outdoor swimming pool, a casino, a one thousand square meter business area section, free WiFi, a gymnasium, restaurant and bars.
The hotel chain also operates the Catalonia La Romana and Catalonia Punta Cana hotels, in the country’s eastern region.
The Riu chain was founded in Barcelona in the early eighties and currently operates 65 hotels in 18 different locations; 55 hotels in Spain; one in Brussels; one in Berlin and seven resorts in the Caribbean.
