Bars and drinking establishments closed around the country
The Ministry of Interior and Police has closed down 25 businesses where alcohol was being sold on the grounds that they were obstructing public roads, making unnecessary noise and remaining open beyond the authorized opening hours for alcohol sales.
Minister Jose Ramon Fadul said that they have all been closed down for a month with the exception of the Fogon Sport Bar in Andres, Boca Chica that was closed down for three months as a young person was murdered there last week.
The deputy minister for arms control at the ministry, Army General Ricardo Rosa Chupany and National Police General Francisco Javier Torres Dotel coordinated the crackdown.
Other businesses closed were El Jefe in Vietnam de Los Mina, Cartier Discoteca in Villa Duarte, and colmado La Chercha in Los Girasoles, Santo Domingo West.
In the National District, La Roca in Los Rios, the Ta Jevi Drink and colmado Los Viejevos in Villas Agricolas and El Pentagono Lounge Bar in Arroyo Hondo were closed down.
In other parts of the country the authorities closed down the Bodega Osvaldo in Santiago, Chil Louge in Ensueno, Villar Recreativo el Saman in Tamboril and the Happy Ranch and Colmado Cabrera in Jacagua.
Also in Santiago province, they closed Manuel Super Market in El Centro de los Jardines, Liliana Super Fria in Ensanche Bolivar, Ronald Drink in Ensanche Libertad, Skina Bar in Tamboril, colmado Gomez Vargas in Los Salados, Manuel Supermarket in Los Jardines and Minimarket Santana in los Salados.
In the south the affected business were Q-7 Drink in San Juan de la Maguana, Cafe Bar el Tizon in Azua, and colmado Cristina in Neyba.
In the eastern region they closed Life Club Disco Bar in Hato Mayor and Exotic Bar in Higuey.
