Assailants robbed Banco Popular in Santo Domingo for over RD$1.8 million pesos
Afternoon, Thursday July 30th, the assailants stormed the Banco Popular branch at Avenida Gregorio Luperon, corner of Olof Palme, and ran away the sum of RD $ 1.8 million pesos and US$ 2.276 in cash.
The information was offered this afternoon by executive vice president of communications of the bank. A security officer of the bank was killed during this robbery.
He notes that the assault occurred just after 12:27 pm when three men came to the scene and immediately fired at Mr. Sabino Mendez Martinez, wounded him deadly.
Mr. Mendez Martinez belonged to the security company Guardian Marcos and had over four years allocated to the financial institution.
Police officers who showed up to the scene conducting investigations of this crime.
The branch will provide services as usual in the morning from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
