Arrests authorized for 1,396 hoax callers to 911
The legal authorities have ordered the arrests of 1,396 people who were found to be making repeated hoax calls to the National Emergency System n 911. The men and women who were arrested are being sent to the Specialized Prosecutor for High Tech Criminal Activity under Judge John Hendry Reynoso. The Specialized Prosecutor will decide whether they should be sent to trial. The punishments established by the law in these cases include correctional prison, the payment of fines and community work, depending on the severity of each case. In a press release, the authorities stress that repeated hoax calls are considered sabotage that is penalized by the Law 53–07 on High Technology and Law 140-13 on the 911 System.
