Amber Cove port to receive second cruise ship Oct 15th
Puerto Plata.- The Amber Cove cruise terminal at Maimon bay will receive early Thursday the cruise ship Carnival Fantasy, the second shit to arrive in Puerto Plata, just eight days after its soft opening.
Local media report that the Carnival Fantasy will arrive early Thursday with some 2, 675 passengers and a crew of 920 on board.
The 261 foot ship with 10 decks will dock in Amber Cove from 8am to 4pm, propelled by engines which can push to 21 knots (39 kph, or 24mph).
The passengers will have about eight hours to enjoy the North Coast tourist attractions. Reviews from passengers on the first cruise ship on 6 October 2015 were mixed, with praise for the top 10 shore excursions, criticism of the high cost of the taxi service and the small number of stores open at the Amber Cove Cruise Center.
