Amber Cove cruise terminal is set for inauguration on October 6, 2015
PUERTO PLATA The cruise terminal Amber Cove, Puerto Plata, Maimon Bay has advanced by 87% in construction work, and for many it is a big hope for improvement of the economy in the region.
It was pointed out that work on infrastructure raised a huge investment by the company Carnival Cruise Lines. They have increased work hours to complete the recreation areas, pools, restaurants and bars which will be located at the center of the resort which will be inaugurated on October, 6th.
The big opening of the Amber Cove terminal is marked precisely with the arrival of the cruise ship Carnival Victory, after that the port will receive two cruise ships full of tourists on the 29th and 30th of October, 2015. Puerto Plata people are making positive plans, expecting that tourists will be willing to spend dollars on Monday and Tuesday, and possibly on Wednesday, giving possibility to wholesalers and tour operators.
However, in Puerto Plata there is still considerable work to be performed with all the locals, making sure that people who offer services (such as taxi drivers, motoconchistas, vendors and others) care for tourists, so that when tourists go back home, they will talk positively about the destination.
