All Puerto Plata Amet agents transferred
The chief of the Metropolitan Transport Authority (Amet) transferred all Amet personnel in Puerto Plata yesterday, Tuesday 1 September 2015. Colonel Nelson Morrillo, head of the Amet operation in Puerto Plata was moved to Santiago but it is not known where the other officers and agents were being sent.
The reasons for the total change were not disclosed, although it is believed to be linked to the lack of authority shown by some agents following an argument with former Deputy and PLD president in Puerto Plata, Alonso Crisostomo (El Querido) when he went to collect his vehicle that had been impounded as it had no vehicle tax and then began to insult the agents while they were trying to calm him down.
