All Dominican hands needed for World Beach Cleanup day
Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Environment and civil society organizations on Thursday called for a of beach of and river cleaning day across the country, and join dozens of nations which will use volunteers in that effort.
The cleanup will be held on Sept. 19, within Ademi Bank´s “3Rs” Program” and with volunteers of the Agricultural and Forestry Development Center (CEDAF) and the Environment Ministry which urge the population to join the activity.
In a press release, the entities says the beach cleanup day cover 67% of the coasts along 17 maritime provinces, adding that the event is held in more than 123 countries and attracts thousands of people who gather to collect solid waste from beaches, rivers and wetlands as evidence of increasing pollution on beaches, riverbanks and coasts.
