A Dominican doctor donates 3 pints of blood to save life of Haitian woman in labor and her baby
In Dominican Republic many Haitian women go to hospitals to give birth, their situations are critical and the Dominican State assumes the total cost of drugs and surgery is necessary.
Some 8,500 Haitians give birth each year in hospitals of the Dominican Republic, in all these efforts of an available medical team and the state that work in favor of the needy, we can not but mention the action of Dr. Manuel Castro, director of the Hospital of Neyba, who saved life of a Haitian woman in labor and her baby, by donating his blood. Dr. Castro donated three pints of blood, when he saw the young woman’s life was in danger and there was no resources to buy blood.
That indicates that the commitment of doctors who vowed to save life and demonstrates their dedication to all patients irregardless of their nationality.
