A Cabarete businessman commits suicide due to debts
PUERTO PLATA – A trader 42 years old native of La Bajada de San Francisco de Macoris community committed suicide near Cabarete beach on Monday, Nov 16th, the man was burdened by debts as reported by the Police.
The deceased was identified as Pedro Duarte Regalado, who lived temporarily in one of the apartments at La Mariposa located in the Vista del Caribe of Cabarete, the body was found lying on the ground next to his truck Toyota model Tacoma.
The police reported that Pedro Duarte Regalado left a handwritten note specifying the decision for suicide which is that he was in debt because of lottery games and had all his properties mortgaged.
Inside the vehicle they found two packets of a toxic substance called “Bio-Quim” and a glass cup where the deceased prepared a deadly cocktail that took his life. The acting coroner Dr. Mario Cesar Lopez, examined the body and determined that he died due to cardio respiratory arrest.
Finally, the body was sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF).
