Weather conditions over Atlantic coast of the Dominican republic
PUERTO PLATA – The sky is completely overcast with moderate showers, isolated thunderstorms with wind gusts while temperatures are very pleasant up to 29-30 degrees Celsius.
According to the National Meteorological Office (ONAMET) the weather outlook for the Dominican Republic will be affected by the impact of a frontal system, which is located in the northern portion of our territory to move to the east / southeast; downpours with thunderstorms and gusty winds at times will be recorded in much of the national territory.
The showers will become more frequent and intense over the provinces of Monte Cristi, Santiago Rodriguez, Dajabón, Valverde, Puerto Plata, Santiago, La Vega, Mirabal Sisters, Espaillat, Samana, Duarte, Maria Trinidad Sanchez, San Juan, Monsignor Nouel, Sánchez Ramirez, San Pedro de Macoris, Hato Mayor, La Altagracia, La Romana and El Seibo.
As sea conditions state that the waves on the Atlantic coast will remain abnormal, waves over 8 feet tall and in that sense it is advised for vessels remain in port. Tomorrow, Tuesday, the cold front will continue to generate substantial showers in the North, Northwest, Northeast, Midwest and Central Cordillera, accompanied by thunderstorms and isolated gusts.
