Venezuela reiterates oil-for-goods deal with Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo.- Venezuela ambassador Alberto Castellar on Friday reiterated his country’s commitment with the Dominican Republic, citing the energy cooperation agreement through which Santo Domingo can pay part of the Petrocaribe oil bill with Dominican products.
The diplomat made the announcement during the meeting with Finance minister Simón Lizardo, and discussed a regional integration proposed through the Petrocaribe Economic Development Zone (ZEP), among other topics.
Castellar said several meetings with senior Dominican officials have been coordinated with the Finance Ministry in the coming days, to continue the work to establish the ZEP and bolster what he affirms are good relations between his country and the Dominican Republic.
