US$35.0M shoe factory means 11,500 new jobs in Santiago
Santiago.- President Danilo Medina on Wednesday headed the opening of a company which manufactures vulcanized shoes which will provide 11,500 new jobs in Santiago province and Tamboril.
The new free zone company Sun Jade International, built by the Hong Fu Group and the VF Corporation, at an initial cost of 35 million dollars, to produce 20 million pairs of tennis shoes for the local market and export.
Industry and Commerce minister Jose del Castillo said the investment is the result of the country’s legal framework with Government support for entrepreneurs and port and road infrastructure development.
