United Airlines with One Daily Flight Between Newark and Santiago

United Airlines recently announced that it will fly from Newark International Airport in New Jersey to Santiago, the Dominican Republic’s second largest city, beginning June 5. The U.S. airline will use Boeing 737-900 “Next Generation” aircraft in this new route.

Flight 1625 will depart Santiago at 1:55 p.m. and arrive in Newark at 5:50 p.m. Flight 1624 will leave Newark at 9:05 a.m. and arrive in Santiago at 12:51 p.m.

Currently, the airline operates 26 weekly flights to the Dominican Republic. Newark has nine flights to Punta Cana and seven to Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata. In addition, there are two flights between Punta Cana and Chicago, and two flights between Punta Cana and Washington, D.C.

Puerto Plata

United Airlines flies Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday to Puerto Plata, on the country’s north coast.

Punta Cana

To Punta Cana, on the country’s easternmost region, the airline has daily flights and two flights on Saturday and Sunday.

Santo Domingo

Daily flights to Santo Domingo and during the summer months (June 7 to August 17), weekly flights between Santo Domingo and Newark will jump from six to nine flights daily.

Price per Luggage

The airline announced the elimination of all fees for the first checked bag on flights between Newark and the cities of Santiago and Santo Domingo.

United Airlines and United Express operate an average of 5,200 flights a year from 369 airports across six continents.
