The Gansevoort Hotel Group will open its first hotel in Sosua
The Gansevoort Hotel Group announced that it will officially open its first hotel in Sosua, on the country’s north coast, on December 15.
The 48-luxury suite Gansevoort Playa Imbert Hotel will open in the once quiet north coast fishing village of Sosua, situated some 15 minutes from Puerto Plata’s international airport.
The two and three bedroom apartments feature private swimming pools and terraces.
The penthouses and four-bedroom apartments provide guests with private roof-top Jacuzzis.
The hotel also features a three-tiered waterfall pool that overlooks the nearby beach. In 2015 the hotel will add an adults-only pool for the ultimate comfort of its guests.
The Baia Lounge, which is currently open to the public, offers guests Mediterranean cuisine and Asian inspired dishes. In addition, the hotel features La Cantina Wine & Cigar Bodega with a collection of wines from around the world.
The Gansevoort Playa Imbert will feature a fitness center, world-class spa with sauna, and areas for meditation and yoga. Also, guests will also have access to a host of sports activities such as surfing, kite surfing, golf, tennis, and horseback riding.
The U.S.-based Gansevoort Hotel Group features two hotels in New York City, a boutique hotel in Turks and Caicos and this soon to be inaugurated hotel in the Dominican Republic’s north coast.
