The country’s first cereal mill opens in San Pedro
San Pedro, Dominican Republic.- President Danilo Medina attended the opening ceremony Monday for the country’s first mill to make corn flakes.
The new company, of the Group César Iglesias, will produce the cereal under the name of El Rey (the king) and also announced the immediate start of construction of a plant to produce Chinese style soups.
Group CEO Miguel Feris Iglesias said his company has 1,600 employees and its expansion results from his confidence in Dominican Republic’s future.
In addition to corn flakes, the mill will reportedly produce six varieties of cereals.
