The construction of the amphitheater and the coastal park in Puerto Plata must speed up
PUERTO PLATA Officials of the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) ordered the company Kuki Silverio & Associates, to speed up the construction of the amphitheater and the coastal park, that’s been going for a year now at La Puntilla del Malecón in Puerto Plata.
This request was made by the holder of MITUR; lic. Francisco Javier Garcia Fernandez, during an inspection which took place last week, he was accompanied by many official representatives including dozens of local journalists, it was established that there were delays in the construction work of the amphitheater and the park.
Contractors assured the Minister García Fernández that the construction of the park and the amphitheater at La Puntilla del Malecón, will be completed by the end of March 2015 and that today’s progress has been made in over 45 percent and which has an investment of 252 million pesos so far, contributed by the Dominican State.
The engineer Erick Gomez, who is in charge of the work has been questioned reg. delays, he regrets that the strike for over a month delayed the completion of the project.
Gomez and others have promised to deliver the project in 10 months before the start of tourist arrivals at the new cruise terminal in the historic Maimon bay.
