The Canadian woman growing marijuana in her apartment in Cabarete set free on bail
PUERTO PLATA -. A foreigner, of 65 years old, who was growing marijuana on the balcony of her apartment in Cabarete, was surprisingly favored on a parole by the Law Office of Permanent Attention of Puerto Plata after depositing 100,000 pesos as financial guarantee.
Such coercive measure was granted to the Canadian, Claudine Osowski ,who last Tuesday morning was caught during a raid on her apartment in the residential Pro-Cab of Cabarete, 38 marijuana seedlings were confiscated.
Given this fact, the opinion of the citizens was swift, some criticized the actions of the authorities as being not quite correct since supposedly in that apartment others were residing, who were not questioned on the discovery of the mini plantation of marijuana.
Other comments were against the coercive measures imposed on the older foreign lady, and according to the information she was not the owner of the mentioned marijuana plants, but some citizens of Haitian origin, who fled the scene upon learning that there would be a raid conducted by the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and a representative of the Public Ministry.
