Taiwan donates 960 motorcycles for 911 emergency system
Santo Domingo.- Presidency chief of staff Gustavo Montalvo on Sunday received the first 90 of 960 motorcycles donated by the Government of Taiwan, to implement the 9-1-1national emergency and security system.
Taiwan ambassador Tomas Ping Fi Hou headed the donation, and said the rest of the motorcycles will continue to arrive in the country in the coming months, in addition to 100 ambulances, a 30-passenger bus and their spares.
Motorcycles, 180 will be earmarked for health emergencies and 780 for the motorized patrols of the national police. 20 Ambulances will be equipped with an advanced system of care for intensive care.
Montalvo thanked ambassador Ping Fi Hou for his country’s contributions, and said all’s ready to make the 9-1-1 system operational, “to continue the recovery of the confidence and security in Dominican Republic’s streets.”
