Street Festival in Sosua was a success
Last Saturday the band ‘Samuel Alvarez & Té de Anamú’ performed for a large crowd in Pedro Clisante, Sosua. The band started to play around half past eight and continued with small breaks until midnight. The five-member band and a female singer played a wide range of tunes, from jazz, boleros, merengue, bachata to salsa’s. From all over Sosúa the people showed up to enjoy the show of this professional band. In front of the stage there were some rows of chairs and enough space to dance. In the street there was also a market organized with some stalls selling jewelry, bags and other stuff. Several restaurants had their tables placed out in the street where guests could enjoy dinner, or drinks, and also the music. The weekly Saturday event is clearly growing in popularity.
According to the entrepreneurs, a special activity will be taking place every Saturday in the closed part of Pedro Clisante street. Last Saturday was a very successful event and many residents, Dominicans and tourists apparently appreciated it.
