Sosua’s Project: Students will paint houses of neighbors
During the graduation ceremony on May 22 at the convention center of Sosúa Bay, mayor Neumann came with a remarkable statement. She announced that from next academic year, students have to do a 60-hour practical training prior to the exams. In the 60 hours they will have to paint some houses of less fortunate people in the neighborhood. The city council will provide the students with paint and other materials to do the painting. The intention of the mayor is to teach the students responsibility and social commitment via this practical training. The project is launched under the name: ‘Pinta tu casa con alegría’ (Paint your house with joy).
