New cruise line coming to exotic Samaná Bay
Samaná, Dominican Republic.- Costa Crociere cruise lines will arrive in exotic Samana Bay for the first time, during the 2014-15 cruise season, as a trial period with nine port calls bringing some 24,000 tourists who set sail from Miami.
Bahia Cruise Services director Federico A. Schad said the visit by the ship Costa Mediterranea heralds the arrival of the new cruise line to the area, resulting from his company’s investment and constant efforts, bolstered b the Tourism Ministry’s promotion of Samaná as a cruise tourism destination.
Schad said the ship will be making nine trial visits in Samaná to evaluate its passengers’ opinion of the destination, which in his view could lead to an increase in the number of arrivals over the next few years.
