Medina aims to reduce the traffic chaos in SD
Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina announced that he would be outlining a plan in the next few days aimed at reducing the chaotic Dominican transportation system, mainly in the cities of Santo Domingo and Santiago.
He recalled that the fiscal reform had included the creation of a tax that assigns 25% of taxes to a fund for solving the transportation problem and that they are already working on this with a good amount of resources.
He said they were also working on the third phase of the second line of the Metro as a way of reducing congestion on the streets. He added that although it would take a long time to complete the Metro that the city of Santo Domingo needs, this third phase would involve the Oriental Zone, the most populous part of Greater Santo Domingo.
